Moving to a new country is often glamorized, but the reality is that it can be incredibly difficult and very isolating. From 2021-2024, I explored the mountains, became a french-speaker, worked in a restaurant, earned my yoga teaching certification, learned to drive stick, and grew more than I ever imagined.

I started @onwardswitzerland, a six-month photography project, to remind myself to stay open to joy and awe even in the most difficult moments of expat life. I hope this project connects with others who have taken the plunge into the ups and downs of living abroad.
